Our Queens Matter
After watching the “Surviving R Kelly” documentary series, my spirit went through an array of emotions, from anger to sadness.
If these allegations are true, we as a community must admit that we failed to protect our young girls.
We must admit that the search for fame and money blinded those around him.
For many of us, the bass line and rhythms of his music paralyzed our reactions when hearing about these under age sexual activities.

How can we place music over the lives of those allegedly sexually, emotionally, spiritually and mentally abused by his unremorseful damaging behavior?
I once enjoyed hearing his music. His CD titled “12 PLAY” stayed in my car CD player. However, after hearing and seeing our (Black) women provide details of their ordeals and their ages when they met him, how can I enjoy the same music NOW, knowing the inspiration behind it?!?
Black men!! We are on trial! YES! We are on trial in the midst of this controversy. As a KING where will you STAND?
I choose to stand with my Black Queens and daughters.
For far too long, we have endured emasculation in our own community and homes, through the act of having our BLACK women and girls taken from us. Taking them and abusing them in front of us, as if we can not protect them or at least CARE TO PROTECT THEM!!! It was not right then and it isn't right NOW!!
We can no longer stand idly by watching as, if our BLACK women do not deserve our commitment to love, respect, honor and protect them.
1 Corinthians 13:11 King James Version (KJV) 11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
We did not start their movement, but this is our opportunity to STAND WITH THEM!!! BLACK GIRLS MATTERS!!!
